The notorious Boston Celtics made a trip to Auburn Hills, Michigan for what they expected to be an easy game against the Detroit Pistons. However, in a discouraging turn of events, Boston lest yet another key player or the team. Kevin Garnett went up to make a dunk, scored and had pain streak across his face before he even reached the ground. That was in the first quarter of the game. His team attempted to keep pace with the Pistons, but came up short in many areas, and at the end of every quarter. Detroit brought it all to an end at a surprising 104-92 after regulation time. Basketball odds.

Detroit really got lucky in this one. Going into this game, the team stood with an 11-21 record in fourth place of the Central Division. Furthermore, the Pistons were coming off of two losses, and an overall discouraging season. Yet in this game, they shot 55.7 percent [a season-high by a Celtics opponent] to avenge a 23-point home loss to Boston from earlier this season. Tracy McGrady stood in for Rodney Stucky, who was struck with a stomach virus, and finished with a season high 21 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds. Center Chris Wilcox also pulled through for the Pistons, nearing a double-double with 10 points and 8 rebounds in his 27 minutes of play. When all was said and done, Detroit had the lead at the end of every quarter in the game. They pressed hard on the offensive end, and the D stepped up to follow suit. This game will certainly be a confidence booster for the Pistons’ upcoming roadtrip. Basketball spreads.

With Rajon Rondon already out for six consecutive games with a sprained left ankle, loosing another vital player is not what the Celtics were hoping for. While the undetermined injury is not as bad as the one that resulted in a knee surgery in 2009, Garnett will definitely miss a few games. Paul Pierce delivered 33 points, but it was not enough to save Boston. The Celtics had 21 TO, lost for only the second time in 17 games and fell to 24-6.
