BEARS MARCH ON
Tue, 30 Nov 2010 04:09 PM EST

The Chicago Bears played an outstanding game against the Philadelphia Eagles, ending with a season high 31 points on Sunday. This time, the Bears won the game simply because they were the better team, and not as the result of other factors. After this spectacular display of skill, the nation will now have to consider this team as a Super Bowl contender. While Michael Vick and his team gave their best to improve their record, they fell to a tie with the New York Giants for the lead of the NFC East. The Bears, on the other hand, continued their winning streak to four wins and stayed atop of the NFC North. It all came to a close with a score of 31-26 after regulation time. Odds.

Chicago really shone through with an impressive game. Now sitting on a promising 8-3 record, the Bears are in a prime position to move on and up in the remainder of the season. As QB Jay Cutler put it, “We have to keep going. The true test in this league is consistency, especially in November and December, whether it’s third downs, red zone, turnovers or winning ballgames. We just have to keep going.” Team leader in passing yards Cutler came through with a career high four touchdown passes, and went for 14 of 21 for 247 yards as well. Matt Forte also stood out in. running 117 yards. That is the most anyone has gone against Philadelphia this season. Scores.

To make victory even sweeter, Chicago’s defense got the first pick off of Vick this year.  While the Bears’ defense and special teams dominated the game as usual, the team as a whole gave a beautifully cohesive effort. This team seems to really believe in itself, and now, they are giving the nation a reason to as well. Las Vegas odds.

With this loss, the Eagles snapped their 3 game win streak to drop to 7-4 this season. With Vick in the lead, Philadelphia gave it their best shot. However, one of the best defensive lines in the nation kept them from making any big plays. Even though Samuel and Hobbs were absent from this game, the Bears were simply better overall in this match-up.
