The Philadelphia 76ers [17-25] made a trip to North Carolina to take on the Charlotte Bobcats [17-24] for the third time this season. Although the Sixers won the previous two, it was the Bobcats that took this game at a close 100-97. Oddly enough, they managed the feat without power forward Tyrus Thomas, who will be sidelined for about eight weeks with a knee injury. Luckily, they found inspiration in D.J. Augustin and Gerald Henderson to pull through. Philadelphia kept up throughout most of the game, but simply continued to fail on big plays down the stretch. With the win, the Bobcats started a two-game winning streak, and improved to seventh place in the Eastern Conference.  Basketball scores.

According to D.J., “Tyrus brought the energy to the game… We’re just going to have to pick it up and play with energy.” It was a huge blow to the team, but Augustin and Henderson took a stand in what could have been a time of panic and disaster. Augustin scored a career-high 31points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. He provided the spark in the first half with 10 of 11 shooting and an impressive free throw play that put the Cats ahead 56-50 at the half. Henderson came through with three consecutive jumpers on a 3-down to finish with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Basketball odds.

He played the role of clutch shooter with surprising ease and enthusiasm, giving it his all down the stretch. Kwame Brown also contributed 6 points with a game-high 9 rebounds, while Nazr Mohammad had 15 points and 7 rebounds to help Charlotte win the game. A lack of bad shooting also helped as well. Basketball spreads.

The 76ers rallied a few times to keep pace as best as they could, but they just couldn’t close the game. This loss marks the second straight time Philadelphia has had this problem, the last being Wednesday night’s game against the Orlando Magic. If this team doesn’t learn to adjust, they won’t have much a shot at success this season. Player of the game Andre Iguodala added 19 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds, but missed a jumper and free throw in the final minutes of the game that would have made a difference. The loss marked Philadelphia’s sixth straight road loss. For the latest lines and scores in the NBA, look no further than
