After defeating the league leading Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Hornets last week, all eyes were eagerly on the Sacramento Kings next game against the Boston Celtics. However, their luck came to an end last night at home. The Celtics started off with a lethargic first half, but the team found their stride in the last two quarters in time to take the win. While it was really Sacramento’s game the first two periods, Ray Allen gave the team somewhat of a verbal lashing at the half, which sparked the Celtics to net a 95-90 victory after regulation time. Odds.

As Paul Pierce said, “We knew we were messing up when Ray’s the one yelling and screaming.” It seemed as much was true on Tuesday, as the Celtics had a simply dreadful opening half. Allen and a few other Boston veterans set their team straight at the half and sent them on their way. That was all it took. Pierce had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, and Kevin Garnett put up 12 points with 7 assists to help the team rally in the fourth. Allen finished 22 points and 6 rebounds, and ignited some very physical play as the game progressed. At one point, Rajon Rondo was even issued a technical for stepping in and pushing DeMarcus Cousins in the chest for standing over Garnett after the ball was already out of bounds. By the time the buzzer sounded, the Celtics brought an end to their road trip at 3-1. Scores.

The Kings looked well on their way to their first three-game winning streak of the season at the end of the second quarter. The team flat out dominated the Celtics in every aspect of the game during that time, taunting their visitors to step it up. Tyreke Evans had 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists to aid his team. A further three Kings scored in double-digit, which included DeMarcus Cousins [20 points, 6 rebounds], Beno Udrih [12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists] and Donte Greene [15 points, 2 rebounds]. Still, when the game got rough and the Celtics got going, Sacramento was unable to keep up, and returned to their losing form.
