The manager for the Brewers Ron Roenicke wants the star Casey McGehee to play the biggest role in the offence end of the Brewers but not carry the club. But McGehee managed both on Wednesday. The third baseman for the Brewers stepped in and homered thrice as Milwaukee pulled out a win over the St. Louis Cardinals 10-5 as they added a win to their NL Central lead. Odds

McGehee said “I don’t think I’ve ever had three in a game ever. It’s something I’ll definitely remember. It was kind of one of those out of body experiences,” “It was nice, especially to be able to sit back and enjoy it that we were able to win the game.”

McGehee went in and hit a two run homer and then another one in both the first and then the third innings. Then in the seventh he got a solo shot to give Milwaukee their eighth win in a nine game series at Miller Park. In addition Corey Hard too homered for the Brewers who have extended their lead over the Cardinals to a 3 ½ game in the division. Scores

Rafael Furcal came in and got a three run homer and then drove it four runs off Randy Wolf in the fourth since he was acquired on Sunday in a trade with the dodgers but it was Edwin Jackson who was seen struggling. Jackson had made his initial start with St. Luis since he was acquired in a three team trade with the White Sox. He had given up 10 runs and earned just eight. He allowed for 14 hits in the seventh innings and had extended work because of the team was wearing a worn down bullpen which followed an 11 inning win on Tuesday. Las Vegas odds

The manager for the Cardinals Tony La Russa said “We’re playing 20 in a row,” “We needed to get as deep in his allotment today as he could. He took it for us. We appreciate it.”

Roenicke added “He puts more on himself than maybe he should. He’s not the guy that’s going to carry this team,” “He’s a huge part in that offense and I don’t ever want him thinking if he’s not doing his part, that’s the reason why we’re not winning because he’s big for us, but so are a lot of other guys.”
