CANUCKS DEFEAT PREDATORS AND ADVANCE TO WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS
Tue, 10 May 2011 05:07 PM EDT

They don’t win playing spectacularly but the Canucks are still walking away with wins and are already headed to the Western finals. The Vancouver Canucks have had plenty of practice these playoffs when given the opportunity to disqualify a rival. They are making it look easy, too. Vegas odds.

Daniel Sedin and Mason Raymond recorded first-episode goals, and goalie Roberto Luongo made 23 saves as the Canucks eliminated the Nashville Predators 2-1 in Game 6 and reached the Western Conference finals on Monday night.

The Canucks, who had the NHL’s best record this regular season, advanced to the conference finals for the first time since 1994 and will be going mano-a-mano against survivor of the series between the San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings. San Jose leads that series 3-2, with Game 6 to be played in Detroit on Tuesday night. Betting lines.

Talking about the game, the Canucks’ Raymond gave Vancouver the lead 7:45 into the game and Sedin made it 2-0 just nearly two minutes later. Luongo did the rest for the Canucks, and saved almost every puck he was shot at. The Canucks were outshot 24-19.

On the other hand, the Predators, who won their first playoff series by thrashing the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, had never won a playoff game in which they faced elimination until their 4-3 victory in Game 5 against Vancouver on Saturday night.

We’ll see if these Canucks have what it takes to be a champion. Right now, they have the best odds at getting away with it and take over the Stanley Cup this year! Sports scores.
