Carl Edwards has probably made up his mind and figure out that the best way to win the Sprint Cup championship is to hold his position. He is the current point leader in the series and has now agreed to a brand new multiyear contract with Roush Fenway Racing, he had to decline an offer from Joe Gibbs Racing to start for them in 2012 the team had announced on Thursday. But the terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed. In a recent statement the team co-owner Jack Roush said that he was excited to have Edwards stay put. Football scores

Roush said “Carl Edwards has achieved a level of success on and off track that would put him at the top of the list for any race team,”  “We saw great potential in Carl a decade ago, and it’s been a thrill to watch him grow into one of the sport’s premier drivers behind the wheel of the No. 99.”

Edwards have been looking over offers coming from both companies with several people saying that he would decide to leave the team which gave him the NASCAR break back during the Truck Series of 2002. However what the Ford spokesman Kevin Kennedy had called unprecedented offer by the manufacturer for Edwards to stay at his current place of employment owing to a number of incentives. Edwards had stated that Roush Fenway has given him everything he needs to win “the resources I need to win.” “I sincerely appreciate the amazing opportunity that Jack Roush has given me in this sport and am honored to race for him,” “I really enjoy competing with this group and looking forward to continuing that relationship into the future.”

Jamie Allison the director of Ford Racing said  “We are pleased with Carl’s vote of confidence in Roush Fenway and Ford,” “This signals he believes he is with the right team and the right automaker to win races and championships. Now we can continue to focus on winning the 2011 championship.”

Newmark said “I read the reports out there that Carl had finalized a deal with Gibbs,” “He was always adamant with me that he had not made a decision yet.” Well we are all glad that he decided to say where he did. Basketball scores
