A game that we had all been waiting for played its course on Sunday, January 30th. The Boston Celtics made a trip to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time since a stinging Game 7 loss to L.A. in the NBA Finals last summer. However, this time it was the Celtics that came out on top, and by quite a margin. A fluid and cohesive game by Boston’s offense proved strong enough to beat Kobe Bryant’s 41 points. For the Celtics, the win represents a quick comeback from an embarrassing loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday. For the Lakers, the loss made for their second straight loss, as well as their fourth defeat in the last seven games. Odds.

The Celtics [36-11] really gave a complete game. Rajon Rondo sparked the offense with 15 of his 16 assists in the second half. He finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds in his 41 minutes for what coach Doc Rivers said was, “one of his best games of the year.” Player of the game Paul Pierce helped his team outrun L.A. with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Ray Allen came through with 21 points and 3 assists. Pushing through a cut to his head in the second, Kevin Garnett played the rest of with a bandage on his head and a fierce attitude of retaliation. Scores.

The combination permitted him to contribute 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assist for a double-double. When all was said and done, Boston had outrebounded Los Angeles 43-30 while making nine three-pointers and hitting 34 assists to the Lakers’ 10. After overwhelming L.A. throughout the first half, The Celtics led the last 21 minutes of the game to win. Las Vegas odds.

It was another inconsistent game against a league leading team for the Lakers [33-15]. Despite a flurry of encouragement from the home crowd and an extensive effort from Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles just couldn’t rally to win it. Not even Bryant’s 27,000th career point or his flood of points to cut the score to 91-87 with 5:07 to play was able to spark the seemingly uninspired team. Perhaps they will take the next match up against their rivals on February 9th. For the latest lines, scores and betting information on the Net, look no further than
