CUBS SHUTOUT PADRES
Mon, 04 Oct 2010 11:37 AM EDT

The Chicago Cubs have been doing well this year, and managed to play a great game on Thursday against the San Diego Padres. It was a very painful loss for the Padres. They completely failed to overcome the Cubs, and lacked at the plate. The game ended 1-0 after nine innings of shrewd play. Baseball scores.

The Padres were not very strong at the plate against the Cubs, who dominated with extremely solid pitching. Held to just three singles, the Padres lost to the Chicago Cubs and were pushed to the brink of elimination from the playoff race. The Cubs have had their moments of brilliance, and Thursday simply one more. They played a very effective game against the San Diego team.

They threw gold from the mound. The pitching was top notch against the Padres, and it had to be. The Padres have a number of really powerful hitters. Sean Marshall got two outs in the eighth for the win, and Carlos Marmol pitched a perfect ninth for his 37th save in 42 chances. The team is pulling together, and though they won’t be going on to the postseason, they will certainly finish their season on a high note. Basketball scores.

The Padres need to win their next few games if they want to make it. Facing a three game series against the Giants, they need to win all three to make it through. The Giants need only one win to eliminate the Padres. The Cubs will finish their season in a satisfying spot, and go on to a productive 2011 if they continue playing like this.  NFL scores.

It has been an exciting year for the Chicago team. They were so close to taking the division many times this season. With their newfound batting power, they can be sure of winning many games in the future. Be sure and follow the Padres at www.scoresandodds.com.
