Sunday night was host to an interesting game between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers. It was a puzzling event filled with anticipation and questionable plays. Though the Colts had the home field advantage, they ended up taking their worst home loss since a 31-3 game against Seattle in September of 1997. This one came to an end at 36-14, in favor of the Chargers. San Diego took this match up on the back of their shrewd defense. While the defensive play was impressive, this team will not be able to rely solely on that if they want to go far this season. Vegas odds.
San Diego now stands in second place of the AFC West on a respectable 6-5 record, and one game behind Kansas City. The defense in this match-up alone extended the team’s current winning streak to four games. Each player did his best, and the efforts certainly paid off. Team leader in rushing yards Mike Tolbert, came through with 103 yards, 26 attempts and one touchdown. Antonio Garay, also did quite well. In one of his more impressive plays Sunday night, he pushed Indianapolis’ right guard so hard that he ran into and knocked over Manning in the process. Though these players did well, the Chargers still need to work on rounding out their game. Though no one can argue that they have one of the best defensive lines in the nation, defense alone will not take them to the Super Bowl, especially when that defense comes through so late in the game. Betting lines.
Manning failed to come through for the Colts during this game, and seemed off his guard overall. Luckily, even with this loss, the team remains tied for first of the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Though earlier this season many would have pinned the Colts for contenders in this year’s Super Bowl, the team seems to be falling apart as of late. Their steady decline has to do with a number of factors including injuries and overconfidence. It seems as if the reign of the Indianapolis Colts has come to an end.
