Lyle Overbay had managed to find his place at Arizona’s latest star inning. Overbay had lined two RBIs in a double off Roy Halladay during the ninth inning which allowed for the Diamondbacks to rise to a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Halladay stepped in and retired 12 batters in a row into the ninth. Halladay is aiming to become an NL’s first 16 game winner as he allowed consecutive singles in the opening inning. The 34 year old player was released just last week by Pittsburgh after he hit .227 with eight homers and a good 37 RBIs in the 103 games they played. He was then drafted by Arizona in 1999 and then played with the Diamondbacks from 2001-03. Basketball scores
The manager for Arizona Kirk Gibson said “We gave him a quick version of, ‘Here we go,’ ” “He’ll fit right in for us.”

Shane Victorino managed to get a two run homer off Arizona’s starter Josn Collmenter during the fifth and then from there it was Halladay. Halladay who struck out a good 14 batters back on the 24th of April at San Diego had been dazzled in front of the usual crowd at the Citizens Bank Park.
Manuel said “It’s kind of his game, isn’t it?” Manuel said. “He’s my ace. If I was going to make a move, I’d do it to start the inning.”
Halladay added “It can be a little tougher to swallow sometimes in the ninth than if you get blown out in the third,”
Collmenter had struck out at a career high eight and then walked one in the 6 2/3 innings. Overbay had stalked him to a huge 1-0 lead just one one RBI single in the second innings. This is what helped the Dimondbacks rise over the Phillies
