DODGERS SHUT DOWN ROCKIES
Fri, 20 Aug 2010 11:33 AM EDT

The LA Dodgers managed to shut down the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The game they played was quick, efficient and, most importantly, a win. The superior fielding and pitching kept the Rockies at bay, with the batting pushing the Dodgers ahead for a victory. It ended 2-0 after nine innings. Baseball scores.

The LA Dodgers have been playing pretty well this season. They have managed to take some pretty tough games. They played very well on Thursday, really taking the game to LA. The pitching was on point, and the hitting was superb. The spectacular fielding kept the Rockies grounded and unable to score. NFL scores.

Ted Lilly led the charge from the mound. With him at the helm, the team has made some serious progress. Lilly has done wonders for the Dodgers, and they would be wise to keep using him. The 34-year-old pitched a two hitter, completely taking the Rockies by surprise. It was his fourth straight victory when starting for the Dodgers. An inspired batting crew that punished the Colorado team backed him up. He put forth some impressive numbers. He had a season-high 11 strikeouts, walked two and retired 19 consecutive batters in his third career shutout. Basketball scores.

Reed Johnson hit his first homer of the season, and put up one half of the runs for LA. The team has played very well in recent weeks. Though they have been plagued with injuries and gotten beaten by stronger teams throughout the year, as the season winds down, the Dodgers are putting on the pressure for a strong finish. Colorado has been sliding backwards. They were one of the top picks for the World Series a few months ago, but have now lost that position. The rest of the season looks great for LA, so long as they can keep playing calmly, and looking fresh on the field. Be sure and follow it all at www.scoresandodds.com.
