Worthy is overlooked and not fully appreciated for his contributions to the Laker showtime express because of the legend of Magic Johnson and Kareem. Magic without Worthy would not have one so many championship rings. Worthy was a finisher like no other.
He had a lighting quick first step to the basket and an explosive lift and jumping ability that allowed him to slam the ball for numerous dunks. People may not remember that a North Carolina Worthy was a superb one on one improvisational player in college basketball. Worthy submerged his one on one game to fit the Magic Showtime style.
Worthy was also one of the best rebounding power forwards in the game especially offensive rebounding.
