The Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons faced off for a regular season finale, and provided the nation with a stunning game. While Carolina welcomed the end of the season with yet another loss this year, the Falcons took the game along with a number of accomplishments and feats. This win secured the team’s NFC South title, as well as a first round bye going into the playoffs. However perhaps the most exciting feat was the fact that the Falcons swept both the division and 1st seed for the first time since 1980. That being said, I think coach Mike Smith’s preseason goal of “becoming relevant” in the NFL has definitely been achieved. Atlanta brought its exciting regular season to a close with a 31-10 rout of the Panthers on Sunday. NFL spreads.

The very relevant team has worked hard to get to where they are now, and this game was a testament to that. This particular win was a result of amazing cast of players the Falcons boast. QB Matt Ryan passed for 236 yards and two touchdowns, while Eric Weems was good for a punt return of 55 yards. Football lines. Roddy White broke records for both receptions and receiving yards in a season with his six catches for 62 yards. Michael Turner redeemed himself from a red-zone fumble by contributing a 17 carries for 67 yards and TD in the third. Strong defense and special teams really helped seal the win. As John Abraham put it, “We don’t consider it the last game of the season but the first game of the playoffs.” Although they don’t know exactly who they will be facing, Atlanta has the comfort of knowing they have a week to rest and the home field advantage come the following weekend. Carolina finished with a league-low 2-14 record, and sent coach John Fox and staff off with a disappointing final loss. Their division rival might have routed them for the playoffs first seed, but at least the Panthers will have the No, 1 pick in the draft next year. Follow everything NFL from lines to scores at
