Coach Bob Bradely said “With group play, you’ve got to deal with each game and find a way to advance,” “We’re pretty hard on ourselves because we weren’t satisfied with our performance against Panama, but there are things that bring a team together.”

Panama managed to snatch a 2-1 win in Group C over USA who managed to push trough as a second place team. Now they will face Group B winner which is Jamaica on Sunday live in Washington DC. Bradley said “This was a game where at the end, we certainly feel we should have finished the game earlier,” “We had good chances to get that second goal. Still, there were positives and now we get ready to move forward.”

The Americans just needed one draw in order to advance after both Canada and Panama managed to draw in Tuesday’s game. Altidore made it a moot point with a go ahead drive right from the 25 yard line in his second tournament goal. Altidore said “I was just able to get a little space,” “It was a good goal.”

Guadeloupe was a surprise semifinalist around four years ago, and when winless win the tree games by just one goal margins. This tiny island which is under French rule in the Caribbean is not a formal member of FIFA and so does not take part in World Cup qualifications. Midfielder Stephane Auvray who is a player for the Sporting Kansas City said “We cannot keep playing that way and not have something to look forward to,” “It’s frustrating because now we have to go home and in two years start up with the same problems we have now.”
