The new Houston Astros proprietor Jim Crane is taking into account to change the name of the franchise as well as its uniforms.

“We’re going to look at the information both from the followers and from all sorts of marketing individuals,” Crane announced. “I’m not saying we’re going to change. We haven’t made the final decision yet whether we’re going to change.”
The franchise was established in 1962 as the Colt .45s and has been called the Astros since 1965 when it was changed to coincide with the move to the Astrodome. Football spreads
Crane related changing uniforms is something they are “highly in consideration of.” Any adjustments wouldn’t happen until 2013 when Houston makes the change from the National League to the American League.
“We had the Colt .45s and everyone liked it,” Crane said. “So that you can think how discomforted they were when we switched that. What you acquire when you look at the aficionado base is the older we become and I am old, you prefer not to modify. But the youthful admirers are really receptive to modify and the older ones are not, so that is what we saw with the American League.”
Crane’s statements came at an event to announce several fans ambitions. The biggest proceed is a 5% rebate on full-season and 27-game season ticket accounts that are replenished by January 31. “We felt that with the actual possession and the way in which the team done in the last couple of years that we needed to step forward and try to get the interest back with the supporters,” he announced.
“We’re producing certain very constructive moves to put a better product on the field, and we would have liked to get people in the ballpark to encounter that.”
Still, Crane needed to make clear that no choices have been made yet.
“We haven’t said we are going to do that, so don’t jump to any answers,” he said of a likely name change. “Sometimes adjustments are beneficial.”
He said they haven’t employed a promoting business yet, but they’re taking into account doing that shortly. Crane said they must inform the league by the start of the season if they’re going to make a change. They wouldn’t be permitted to broadcast the new identify or release the brands until the season is ended.
“Baseball has to confirm all those symbols and all those alterations and there is a lot of expense to it. We’ve got signs here and if we do change it, it may be costly,” Crane declared.
The Astros had 1 or 2 uniform styles in their history, including the shooting star jerseys and the now infamous rainbow ones. They have had their present uniforms, which include road grays and primarily home reds since 2000. They also have alternate home white and white with black pinstriped jerseys.
Crane related some past uniforms might be included into a new style.
“We’ve been studying the uniforms and we believe there are some good ideas with the past,” he announced. “We had baseball’s people in to talk to them about what must be done. We’re attempting to follow the right protocol. They have restricted rules. We’re going to get some fan input together and put a review group together.”
