Colts quarterback Peyton Manning intended to bear scans Wed. in Indy to determine if the mixture of his neck vertebrae is complete, and doctors then will decide the next step in his rehab. Basketball odds
Manning has not been able to run or throw since Sept. Eight, when he had his third neck surgery in Nineteen months, a backbones fusion process that removed soft tissue and attached the bones together with a graft. Wed.’s scans should show whether the graft has taken hold enough to increase his physical care. Basketball lines
Manning has been restricted to the elliptical machine for cardiovascular work and some light, high-repetition weight lifting to restore strength to his pectoral muscles and triceps and biceps. Until his spine has totally fused and healed, the nerves can’t regenerate, and without proper muscle strength, Peyton would risk damage to his rotator cuff or elbow by throwing too fast.
Once Manning’s doctors and the Colts ‘ hospital staff have reviewed the results of Wednesday’s tests, Manning should know whether he will resume throwing and probably return to the field this season.
After Indianapolis dropped to 0-11 Sunday with a 27-19 loss to Carolina, Peyton announced in the Colts ‘ locker room that he would “probably check in with y’all this week.”
The Colts and Manning have held out expectation that he might be in a position to play this season, with an objective of being able to practice in the last 14 days of the season.
