The Cleveland Browns have now reached an agreement with the Pro Bowl offensive tackle Joe Thomas on what is a seven year contract extension. This deal is now worth $84 million with around $44 million in guarantee according to a source at the league. The agent Peter Schaffer has told the Associated Press yesterday night that both sides have been working towards this deal for quite some time and it was good to see Thomas will now have  a long term home with the Browns. But the Browns are playing things down as they said that they do not have an announcement planned as yet. But Thomas has said that he is very thrilled to be living in Cleveland. Betting lines

Thomas emailed AP saying “I am just so excited that I get to continue my career with the Cleveland Browns,” “I think something really special is happening here and it makes me very happy to get to start and finish my career in front of the best fans in the NFL. I love the city, fans, and the organization.”

Thomas was the one who was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the four NFL seasons and was also entering into the final year of his rookie contract which he had gotten when he was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 draft. Sports scores

Thomas said “There’s now a very solid plan,” “Everybody in this organization is rowing the ship in the same direction — for once.”

Thomas said while speaking to a team of reporters “I’ve been really impressed,” “The staff they have put together is phenomenal with the number of guys who have been head coaches in the league. A lot of different experiences, and they’ve coached in a lot of different styles, a lot of different schemes and systems. They’re really focused on teaching and I think that’s the thing that has impressed me most about coach Shurmur. He’s a really hands-on teacher. He’s on the field coaching (quarterback) Colt McCoy up for every read and every throw. He’s talking to the receivers. He’s talking to the offensive linemen and tight ends. He’s throwing his two cents in there on defense. He then added  “It’s been great.”

We now would like to see how he playing in the long run with the Browns.
