With Cliff Lee gone, the Rangers will be counting on newly acquired BRANDON WEBB to pick up at least some of the slack in the starting rotation. He’s pitched just one game since the end of the 2008 season and may never be the same after his shoulder surgery. Unless his velocity returns, he’s a middle-of-the-rotation type, which will put a lot of pressure on both COLBY LEWIS and C.J. WILSON, whose transition from the bullpen to the rotation last season went as well as anybody could have been hoped. Baseball spreads.
The offense should continue to produce runs with 3B ADRIAN BELTRE having been signed to fill the middle-of-the-lineup void created by the departure of DH Vladimir Guerrero. Baseball scores.
