Well folks, it looks like the Boston Celtics have not forgotten how to lose. After an amazing run of form, the time to meet the Los Angeles Clippers at home had finally arrived. Even though that may not say much (the Clippers are not doing too well this season), the Clippers were still coming after 3 consecutive victories, and they posed a real threat to the mighty Celtics. In order to stop the Clippers, the Celtics thought that stopping Blake Griffin is all they have to do. Boy, were they wrong. Odds.
“They’re a really good defensive team,” Mo Williams stated. “If you just try to give the ball to Blake, it’s not going to be effective. … He was a little frustrated down the stretch but he kept his composure.”
The first quarter was as surprising as first quarters get. Even though Blake Griffin was clearly off his game, Mo Williams did an amazing job and superbly led his team to victory. Williams is one of the latest additions to the Clippers squad, and he arrived from the Cleveland Cavaliers. So the score of the first quarter was 30-17, and the Boston Celtics looked like they can’t understand what’s happening. Scores.
“It’s a lot of inconsistency,” Paul Pierce stated. “Some of that had to do with implementing a lot of new guys but … we’ve got to get off to better starts and that’s with the guys that have been here.”
In the second quarter, the Los Angeles Clippers kept their momentum and kept adding points to their lead. The Celtics still didn’t realize that they have to put less on Griffin and more on everyone else, and that led to them being outscored 30-25. The overall score was 60-42.
“You definitely want to keep the ball out of Griffin’s hands,” Pierce stated. “We did focus on their star, but I feel like we forgot about the other guys and those are the guys that beat us.”
But the Boston Celtics did not become one of the best teams in the NBA by sitting idly by and not looking for solutions. During the third quarter, they finally started doing things right, and they finally started coming back. However, the difference was high, and even though they tried their best, the Clippers wanted to win it more. The score of the third quarter was 16-24, and the overall score was 76-66. Things continued like that during the fourth quarter, but the Clippers managed to resist heroically, and they managed to keep a lead and win this one, 108-103. Las Vegas odds.
