It looks like a short break was all the Lakers needed to return to their winning ways. After consecutive defeats at the hands of Orlando Magic, Charlotte Bobcats and most of all, the Cleveland Cavaliers, there were many voices that Lakers finally reached a point where they just can’t cut it anymore. And how they were proven wrong! The defending champions started the game with something to prove. Vegas odds.

The first quarter started with the Los Angeles Lakers completely in control. Note that the Atlanta Hawks never managed to get ahead during this game. Not even by one point! So the Lakers dominated the first quarter with comfortable ease and outscored the Hawks 28-15.

“We know we’re an elite team,” Paul Gasol stated. “We know we can be dominating. It just hasn’t happened consistently enough. We’re glad it happened tonight, but we’ve got to do it again and again.” Betting lines.

It looks like Bryant’s success in the All-Star game has given him wings and he easily outperformed anyone on the field. He finished the match with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

“We came out and played hard, did all the right things,” Kobe Bryant stated. “I just felt like our execution defensively was really sharp tonight.”

The second quarter looked pretty much like the first. The Lakers did their job upfront, scored 26 more points and were giants in defense. At half time the score was 33-54 and the Lakers looked positively superb.

The Lakers showed last night why they are one of the most feared and respected teams in the NBA. They gave no chance to their opponents and they kept outscoring them as the game continued. The third quarter looked a bit more balanced and the Hawks managed to get outscored by only 5 points. The score was 54-80 and things were pretty much settled.

“I thought our guys took the path of least resistance the whole game,” Larry Drew, Atlanta Hawks coach, stated. “On offense, we settled, and defensively, we didn’t play with physicality. I just thought we settled, which is starting to be a pattern with us.” Sports scores.

The Lakers took their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter but they still did an awesome defensive job. The Hawks managed to get 2 points closer but it was nowhere near enough to achieve something in this game. The final score was 80-104 and the Los Angeles Lakers look as threatening as ever.
