The Los Angeles Lakers have had a hard time in dealing with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the past. They didn’t really know how this would turn out, so they had to hope that Kobe Bryant and Gasol would be up to the challenge. The Lakers have had a good season, with the exception of the three games in a row which they lost right before the All-Star break. However, they’ve been doing better since, and their hopes of retaining the title were renewed during the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Basketball scores.

Oklahoma had a better start of the game and they kind of outmatched the Lakers in the first quarter. It was a close one, but the Thunder were better in defense and managed to outscore the Lakers 22-28. It was by no means a decisive lead, but they were doing their job and they couldn’t even use Kendrick Perkins, a player that used to bring the Lakers a lot of misery.

“They’re a dangerous team now, they’re a very good team now and probably Perkins is going to help them, especially in the playoffs,” Gasol stated. “But we’ll see. That has to be seen and proven.” Basketball odds.

“Kendrick will obviously provide great muscle inside, and he’s the best low-post defender we have in the game, so it’s a welcome addition for them, I’m sure,” MVP Kobe Bryant also stated.

Gasol, Bryant and Andrew Bynum were on top of their game, but it didn’t look like they would be able to turn this one around. The second quarter was extremely well balanced, the Lakers fought hard, but the Oklahoma players were able to hold their own. By the end of the first half, the game was pretty tight and the Lakers were just 5 points behind. The overall score was 51-56.

“The rest did the guys some good. It was a chance to kind of recover, regroup, and focus on the opportunity that we have ahead of ourselves,” Kobe Bryant added.

Everything turned around in the third quarter. The Los Angeles Lakers finally managed to get their defense going and they quickly ate away at their opponents’ advantage. The Lakers were very fast in turning their deficit into an advantage and they were finally in the lead by the end of the third quarter. Basketball spreads.

Even though both teams had great leads throughout the game, this one was going to finish tight. The Lakers managed to hold on to their advantage and it finally ended 90-87.
