It was a magical game for Orlando, Wednesday night at the Madison Square Garden. Orlando’s 6-foot-11 superstar Dwight Howard, caused major trouble to the already struggling New York Knicks in a 111-99 victory earned on the road. This new defeat sent the Knicks one game below the .500 mark. Basketball betting lines.

Howard, the self-proclaimed “Superman”, contributed with 33 points and grabbed eleven boards to take the Magic to their 4th consecutive win. Point guard Jameer Nelson scored 19 points, Turkish Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points and 11 rebounds, and big man Brandon Bass registered 15 points for the Magic. Orlando’s defense was off the hook as they managed to control Amare Stoudemire and hold him to his worst game this season.

Orlando’s early season addition Jason Richards, scored 9 of his 12 points in the 4th quarter to help the Magic break away and beat the Knicks.

Hometown hero Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and dished out 9 assists for the Knicks, who took down their 7th loss in 8 games, now 7-10 since the All-Star break, quite a hit after Melo’s hyped debut in NYC. Guards Chauncey Billups and Toney Douglas each scored 17 but it wasn’t enough for the Knicks. Odds.

New York’s starting power forward Amare Stoudemire struggled to find his game flowing during most of the night finishing up with just 4 points. Credits to Orlando’s Bass who did a magnificent job guarding Stoudemire.

The Knicks have been facing some issues since acquiring Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups in the February trade-deadline from the Denver Nuggets. For starters they keep blaming their struggles of adapting to a major trade so late in the season, and a March schedule that has them playing 18 games, with six sets of back-to-backs. This has led them to  give up terrain in their race to the playoffs, now sitting at 7th in the Eastern Conference.

Also, Amare Stoudemire’s production has been decreasing since Melo’s arrival. As well as this team looks like on paper, they must begin to click and get their chemistry flowing before the postseason starts. On the other hand, Orlando is already feeling comfy in the 4th position of the Eastern Conference where they will probably face the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs. Scores.
