The N. Y Yankees have transposed top promise Jesus Montero and right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi to the Seattle Mariners in return for phenom pitcher Michael Pineda and righty Jose Campos, a resource recounted. Football scores

The Yankees obtain the 22-year-old Pineda after he went 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA for the Mariners as a rookie last year.

Following an up and back down year in Triple-A, Montero came up to the mains and showed off his electric bat. In eighteen games, he hit .328 with four home runs and twenty-eight RBIs. He was anticipated to be the Yankees elected hitter this season.

Although there are no doubts about Montero’s bat, there are certain concerns as to whether he can catch in the majors.

The Yankees nearly dealt Montero once before to the Mariners in a 2010 trade for Cliff Lee. The deal fell thru and the Mariners finished up sending Lee to the Texas Rangers. Baseball scores

Pineda adjoins more youngsters to the Yankees ‘ alternation behind CC Sabathia. After Pineda, the Yankees have Ivan Nova and Phil Hughes, which are both twenty-five years old.

Hughes will be probable get to contend with Freddy Garcia and A.J. Burnett for the fourth and fifth starter areas.

Later Friday though, the Yankees added one more arm, signing previous L. A. Dodger’s pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, sources said.
The contracts are contingent on those involved passing physicals, concordant to the announcer.

After losing in the 1st round of the playoffs, the Yankees kept hunting for pitching this winter after they passed on bidding for the top independent agents in what was a weak year for starters.

They may part with the 22-year-old Montero mainly because they have some catchers in their method that’s advised much far better defensively. They include Austin Romine at Triple-A, plus Russell Martin earned an All-Star appearance in his initial year with New York and was praised for his performance with the Yankees ‘ pitching personnel.

Pineda, who turns twenty-three later in the month, gained his catch into the Mariners ‘ rotation with his performance last spring. By the final of the season, he was in place as Seattle’s No. 2 starter for the future behind ace Felix Hernandez.

But it does not matter who Seattle had throwing, they couldn’t make up for an offense that hit just .233 as a team, scored 556 runs – the worse in all of baseball – and hit only 109 homers.

Most Seattle followers wanted Prince Fielder to be the offensive solution. For now, they’re going to have to settle for Montero’s aptitude.

Pineda started fast, and then hardened common rookie battles as the season progressed. One of Pineda’s high points was starting at home in opposition to the Yankees on May 27 while he was 6-2. Pineda threw five innings that night for a 4-3 Seattle triumph.

But Pineda’s rookie troubles started soon after. Over his final 17 starts, Pineda was 3-8 and his ERA ballooned to 4.74. Overall, he struck out 173 in 171 innings.

Pineda was dispensable because of Seattle’s rich depth of starters. The Mariners include Hernandez at the top of their rotation and simply signed Japanese pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma. Those two, mixed with lefty Jason Vargas and young prospects Charlie Furbush and Blake Beavan, will likely make up Seattle revolution to begin the season.

In the minors, three of Seattle’s top players all project as beginning pitchers: right-hander Taijuan Walker, lefty Danny Hultzen – the No. Two pick in last year’s amateur draft – and righty James Paxton.
