ORIOLES TAKE THE A’S
Thu, 01 Jul 2010 09:38 AM EDT

The day was Wednesday, and the winning team was the Orioles. A brilliant game of baseball, awesome pitching and batting on both sides, but only one team could win. The team with the most heart emerged victorious this time as the Orioles beat the Athletics in a fast-paced game that ended 9-6 in Baltimore’s favor. Vegas odds.

This comeback victory for Baltimore had a story behind it. A teammate was hurt, and needed his fellow Orioles to pull together for the win. That’s what they did. Luke Scott injured his hamstring while running in a home run, and the Orioles rallied to blow the Athletics away.

On an expected 15 day injury leave, Scott said he knew he hit the ball well when he connected, but perhaps a bit high. He was worried that it wouldn’t go out, but he ended up scoring anyway. The injury occurred when he was rounding the bases to claim his run- an unfortunate incident such at such an inopportune moment. Betting lines.

His home run was one of five by Baltimore during the game. They tied a season high record and their spirits were lifted high as they rolled past the Athletics, scoring back to back runs. Ty Wigginton hit the first homer by an Orioles first baseman this season, a two-run shot off Brad Ziegler that tied the game at 6.

The Orioles had gone 76 games without a home run from a first baseman. That is quite a stretch when the Orioles have been getting so many homers. It was Wigginton’s 14th of the season, the first since May 22. After the game, his teammates said in a press interview that they could not even remember  the last time he had hit one. Football scores.

With such a good performance from everyone on the roster, the Orioles are in for a great season. Be sure to keep tabs on them at www.scoresandodds.com, where you can find the best lines on all your favorite Major League teams.
