PACKERS VS. BEARS
Thu, 20 Jan 2011 11:16 AM EST

In the 182 times the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears will have meet up, this Sunday will be the first time face-off in a NFC Championship game. The rivalry is the longest in NFL history, dating all the way back to 1921. These teams do not like each other, which is sure to provide a very physical game. Green Bay has QB Aaron Rodgers, who led his team to victory over Philadelphia and Atlanta in their two road playoffs games this postseason. Furthermore, Rodgers has won four of his six career starts against Chicago. Still, the Bears lead the all-time series 92-83-6. With both teams boasting outstanding rosters and top-rated defenses, this is one Conference Championship you cannot afford to miss. Be sure to catch all the hard-hitting action from Soldier Field on Fox Sports at 3:00PM ET. NFL scores.

If the Packers net this win, they will become only the second No.6 seeded team ever to play in the Super Bowl. More impressively, they will have won all their postseason games on the road. That window of opportunity has everything to do with Aaron Rodgers. The QB has a 125.0 passer rating, 22 touchdowns and 2 interceptions over his last 9 games. He called his performance in last week’s routing of top-seeded Atlanta, where his finished [31-36, 366], the best of his career. Another weapon Green Bay holds is the up-an-coming Tramon Williams, whose notorious picking poses a threat to Chicago’s Jay Cutler. While the Packer are on a roll, and possess the leagues 5th ranked defense and 9th ranked offense, they reality is that they have lost three of the last four times they made a trip to Chicago. The Packers will have to watch their every step. NFL spreads.

The Bears simply have a number of players who have delivered stunning results for quite some time. Pro players such as Devin Hester, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and Julius Peppers have set a sturdy foundation for the team but not it’s Jay Cutler who is bringing Chicago to new heights. The QB has led the Bears to their first playoff victory since 2006 with stunning performances. In his most recent game against Seattle, Cutler became only the second QB in league history to thrown and run for two touchdowns in a postseason game. With the home team advantage a strong dislike for fuel, it will be interesting to see how the Bears deliver.
