The Raiders have been back and forth all season long, but on Sunday, they turned their latest 2 game losing streak around. Oakland won a rather surprising game against the San Diego Chargers to prove to the nation that they still have a shot at a good season. While anyone who follows football would have bet on an easy win for SD, apparently their four consecutive wins and new-found sturdy skills had no effect on this match-up. NFL scores.

Instead, Oakland swept the season series for the first time since 2001 by taking the game 28-13 after regulation time. With this win, the Raiders actually have hopes for the playoffs this year.  NFL lines.

After beating the Chargers 35-27 on October 10th this season, the team managed to take a win yet again. Just as a comparison, Grades gave Oakland an A-, while San Diego got a flat out F. Going into this match-up, most people would have given the grades to the opposite team. The two Charger turnovers in the first quarter that turned into Raider touchdowns really gave Oakland a foot up to start things off. From there the team simply continued to play well off and with each other. By the end, the Raiders had held the Chargers to a season-low 286 yards in total offense. NFL spreads.

The Chargers’ strong special teams, impressive pass protection and NFL’s third ranked rushing defense were nowhere to be found on Sunday night. They couldn’t manage to fine even one of QB Jason Campbell’s passes, after remarkably catching four of Peyton Manning’s just the week before. Just like that, San Diego’s 18 straight December victories were brought to an end. This loss also makes San Diego tied with the Oakland at 6-6 for second place of the anemic AFC west, giving each a fair shot on making it into the playoffs this next year.
