RED SOX BEAT OUT INDIANS
Fri, 06 Aug 2010 06:48 PM EDT

All the Boston fans around the world can rejoice; their team is back to winning after a very long time struggling with injured players. The weeks leading up to, and immediately after, the all star game, were tense for Boston. Though their position in the standings was in jeopardy for a while, they have come back strong, and are winning again. Their most recent victory was on Friday, taking the Cleveland Indians in a game that ended 6-2.

It was a game that was dominated from the start by the Red Sox. They put the pressure on early, and maintained a high level of play throughout the entire game. Daisuke Matsuzaka headed off the pitching, while Adrian Beltre kept the ball flying into the stands all night long. These two guys have been pulling hard to keep their team in contention for a Division Playoff.

If they can keep it up, it just might work. The batting on Thursday looked sharp. The Sox’s highlight of the night was when Adrian Beltre hit a grand slam. He has some great stats behind him this year, batting a team-high .336 with 20 homers, and a club-leading 75 RBIs. This guy is definitely a threat if you are playing the Red Sox.

Matsuzaka brought the pressure as well. Despite giving up a big run early on, he regained his composure, redoubled his efforts and took control of the game. He struck out six, walked two and allowed five hits. He gave up Shin-Soo Choo’s 14th homer of the season in the first, but that was the worst of what he faced.

The Red Sox have the uncanny ability to recover from the brink of disaster. They are a great team with a rich history and a passionate following.  Be sure and follow them at www.scoresandodds.com, home of the best sports betting data on the Internet.
