ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Dustin Pedroia singled with two outs in the top of the 16th inning, snapping a scoreless tie and giving the Boston Red Sox a 1-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday night.

Dustin Pedroia managed to single with just two outs in the first half of the 16th innings which snapped up a scoreless tie which gave the Boston Red Sox a huge 1-0 win over the Rays yesterday night. Pedroia came in and lined up a single to the right field off Adam Russell which drove Josh Reddick from the third base. Reddick then drew a leadoff walk which moved to second on the sacrifice bunt and the third on Marco Scuarto’s infield hit. NFL spreads

Alfredo Aceves stepped up and pitched three whole scoreless innings to contribute to the win. Then Jonathan Papelbon worked upwards from the bottom line of the 16th for his 21st save in the 22 opportunities he got. Neimann was playing almost as good while he was working a season high in the eight innings which allowed for two out single to Adrian Gonzales in the first and then Pedroia’s single down over to the left filed line leading off in the fourth.
