In a great game, the Rockies took the padres 10-6, with much of that being owed to stellar pitching from Ubaldo Jimenez. Things got a little rough for them at the end of the geame, but they still managed the win. Sports scores.

Going six innings of perfection, Ubaldo walked off the field with the score at 8-0 in the bottom of the sixth. The pitching was epic, and so was the batting; home runs one after another, singles right and left, relentless pressure on the Padres made them lose their composure, and give up the win. Jimenez left the game after six innings. Betting lines.

Miguel Olivo, Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan Spilborghs, and Seth Smith all scored home runs, most of them doubles, the one from Smith a single. The offensive capabilities of the Rockies are very good this year, they have done away with some of the best teams. The Padres could not escape the wrath either.

The Padres finally caught up to Jimenez in the sixth inning. Things changed a bit here for him, Hairston hit a 2-1 pitch for his eighth homer, and Chase Headley singled in Gwynn. With some points on the board, the Padres gained momentum. The NL West-leading  team tried to catch up, but the Rockies turned up the heat, and sealed the game.

The Padres scored two more runs against the Rockies’ bullpen in the seventh, in a desperate bid to catch up with the Rockies. This turned out to be a fruitless endeavor as the Rockies drew on their talent, and the team came together for a very strong finish, 10-6 after 9 innings of pure brilliance on both sides. Football scores.
