SAN ANTONIO’S BIG THREE ALL BANGED UP!
Wed, 30 Mar 2011 06:34 PM EDT

We have bad news for all the San Antonio Spurs fans out there. In fact, terrible news, as San Antonio’s All-Star players are all sidelined indefinitely. Basketball betting lines.

The Spurs’ big three which includes Frenchman Tony Parker, Argentinian sensation Manu Ginobili and U.S. Virgin Islands native Tim Duncan are all injured and the NBA’s current winningest team has taken a big punch right before the playoffs start. There is no timetable just yet on when they will be back.

The team is also without veteran center-forward Antonio McDyess who is out with a sore back, and it all comes with nine games to go. The NBA have seen a Spurs team cruise throughout the regular season in almost-perfect health. The Spurs hosted the Trail Blazers on a three-game skid, their longest all season in which Richard Jefferson was the only starter left in the lineup.

San Antonio’s next meeting is set for Thursday against the Celtics. Coach Greg Popovich declared that Parker, who has a left knee contusion, could return by then. He also said that there is no timetable for Ginobili, who suffered a left quad contusion against Memphis last weekend when banging against 7-footer Marc Gasol. Duncan’s case remains unknown. Basketball odds.

The Big Fundamental has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle last week in a game against Golden State. He didn’t travel with the Spurs on their three-game road trip to Denver, Portland and Memphis.

San Antonio left each city with a defeat. It’s just the third time the Spurs have lost consecutive games during what has the franchise’s best regular season since joining the NBA.

Ginobili who is averaging 17.8 points per game, Parker with 17.5, and Duncan registering 13.1, are San Antonio’s three leading scorers.

The Spurs are still four games ahead of the L.A. Lakers for first place in the Western Conference. San Antonio has kept a healthy lead for the No. 1 seed most of the season. The Lakers are slowly gaining some lost terrain and appear to be a major threat for the Spurs in the closing of this regular season.

The recent banged up San Antonio team will have to turn to Richard Jefferson, George Hill and the rest of their reserves to keep their squad on top of the Western Conference if they want to maintain home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Basketball lines.
