Week 15 of the regular season will see the San Diego Chargers facing off against the San Francisco 49ers. As both of these teams are one game behind their division leaders in second place, this match-up is sure to be full of determination. To make things even more exciting, each team boasts a clever defense and a talented roster of players. Whoever wins this one will be that much closer to a playoff game and the division title. NFL spreads.
That being said, someone is also going to have their hopes of those accomplishments crushed. After all, with only three games lefty in the regular season, every game counts. The pigskin is set to fly at 8:20 PM ET in the Qualcomm Stadium, and will be aired on the NFL Network. NFL lines.
The Chargers sit in second place of the AFC West on a 7-6 record. Despite standings and mediocre stats, this team stands in a good position for a number of reasons. San Diego has the NfL’s top ranked defense, which has only allowed a league-low 265.0 YPG and 173.4 through the air this season. That D is also tied for third in sacks at 38 with Oakland. Furthermore, the four-time reigning AFC West Champions have won in the last two meetings with the 49ers, as well as five of six of their last games. If they won, this would mark the team’s second consecutive win after Sunday’s eradication of their division rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs [31-0]. With the leagues number one defense and strong QB Phillip Rivers [103.3 rating], this team has a good chance of winning this match-up. NFL betting lines.
One game behind the St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers hold a steady 5-8 record. This team also beat on of their division rivalries in their last game, the Seahawks [40-21], and by quite a margin. This D has also managed a season-high four interceptions last weekend, which could pose quite a threat to SD. Even though San Francisco started the season off 0-5, they have recently hit a strong streak that has allowed them to win five of eight of their last games. As LB Travis LaBoy said, “All we can do is focus on the next game and try to keep knocking down the W’s.” With Alex Smith back to the field after a five game absence and a shoulder injury, the Niners have a fairly good shot at their first division title since 2002.
