Good news for all the Atlanta fans out there: The good Josh Smith kicked the bad one out of the arena just in time for the Hawks to save themselves from themselves… at least he did for Game 4. Basketball lines.
Smith seriously was doing everything to keep his team contending in the playoffs. He drove to the basket. He defended. He collected boards. He made dazzling assists. He even won a decisive jump ball against a taller player. There was only one thing Smith fortunately didn’t do… square himself on the outside, to put up crazy uncalled for shots from beyond his range.
J-Smith is known for being repeatedly criticized by Atlanta fans for his inconsistent play. But on Sunday he answered his critics with a colossal game: 23 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. He heard nothing but cheers from the crowd, largely staying away from shooting crazy impossible jumpers, dominating the glass and finding the open teammate. Basketball betting lines.
Atlanta also got a huge contribution from Jeff Teague who came off the bench to put up a phenomenal performance in the final minutes of the game to lead the Hawks beat the Chicago Bulls 100-88 Sunday night, tying the Eastern Conference semifinals at two games each.
On Chicago’s side Derrick Rose, the actual MVP scored 34 points. But Rose needed 32 attempts to achieve it. Carlos Boozer posted 18 points for Chicago, and Luol Deng added 13. “Sniper Rifle” shooter Kyle Korver had a particularly awful night, going 1 for 8 from the floor. He missed all five of his beyond the arc attempts.
The top-seeded Bulls can still finish off the series simply by winning at home. On the other hand the Hawks will still have at least one more game at Phillips Arena to play with the support of their crazy cheering fans to try and get away with the series. Basketball scores.
