The San Antonio Spurs [40-8] traveled to Oregon last night to take on the Portland Trail Blazers [26-22]. It was a high-energy game in which the lead was handed back an forth many times before the final buzzer sounded. When all was said and done, the Blazers served the Spurs only their eighth loss this season. The victory had a lot to do with LaMarcus Aldridge’s stellar performance. The power forward, who currently averages 25.7 rebounds and 10.3 points per game, was even rewarded with a handshake from San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich after the game. The Blazers started February with their 99-86 win over one of the league’s best teams. Vegas odds.

The Trail Blazers headed into the game off four days of rest after losing 88-78 to the Boston Celtics last Thursday. It looks like the break did them good. Not only did they beat the leading Western Conference team, but the also win snapped the Blazers’ previous two-game losing streak. Portland kept up the pressure with help from LaMarcus Aldridge, who finished the game with 40 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. However, he was not the only one to score in double-digits. Wesley Matthews put up 21 points with his 1 rebound, and Andre Miller had 18 points with 2 rebounds and 9 assists. After keeping pace with the Spurs through all four quarters, a driving layup and made free throw from Matthews sealed the victory. Coach Nate McMillan was quoted, “To go toe-to-toe with most teams, we can’t do that. We’ve got to outwork you, we’ve got to be smarter, execute. And if we do that, we play hard, we’re going to give ourselves a chance to win.” Well, a chance and a win is exactly what they got. Betting lines.

The Spurs rallied from small deficits throughout the game, but they simply couldn’t do so in the fourth. Although the team led at the end of the second and third quarters, they fell to a 13-point loss in the end. San Antonio lost the first match of their annual “Rodeo Road Trip”, and will go on to face the anticipated Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
