The world’s top ranked amateur now has a title to go with his status, and is looking strong as ever for future matches. The win happened on Sunday, after he beat out some of the toughest competition in the world to claim the win. Incidentally, it was his 21st birthday. He beat David Chung for a 4 and 2 victory at Chambers Bay, taking the biggest victory of his career. The future is bright for this young man. He displayed some shrewd talent on the course while playing aggressively in an effort to put the tournament away. Obviously, it paid off. Though Uihlein has been considered amongst the top young players in the world for many years, he had yet to capture a major championship, until now. Baseball Spreads.

Things are looking up for the champ. He will now look forward to a great career in golf. End result aside, the game played out much in his favor. He was pressed by David Chung for the majority of the holes, but took a lead in the end. The back nine is where he made his move. Uihlein made a 20-foot birdie putt to win the 14th, nearly ending the match at No. 15 by leaving his putt on the lip. Uihlein finally managed to finish off Chung on the 34th hole, when Chung’s tee shot on the drivable par-4 16th hole went into the grass. Chung tried to flop his second shot near the pin, but caught too much grass and sent the shot flying over the back of the green. With that, it was all over, and Uhilein took the title.
