Nick Swisher is having another big laugh and for many reasons owing to Sunday night’s win. The Swisher managed to hit a tiebraking and also game winning three run homer during the eighth inning of the game against the Chicago Cubs that put them 10-4 at the finals of the first series taking place at Wrigley Field in eight years. Swisher said  “Just a total team effort today,”

Brett Gardner said that his first career leadoff homer is for the Yankees who managed to win eight out of their ten since they were earlier swept by Boston in the three game series played at home. Swisher managed to finish off with a good four RBIs as Alex Rodriguez led New York’s offense with is three hits and then the walk. NFL scores

There was yet another huge crowd that packed Chicago’s home for the third day in a row and there were lots of chants of “Let’s go Yankees!” from a small group of New York fans which was also followed by many boos from the majority at attendance. A total of 41828 people packed to see the game. Baseball spreads

Yankees left hander sabathia said “It’s a lot of fun. The atmosphere is great,” “It’s always fun to come here to Wrigley.”

Alfonso Soriano managed his 14th homer and Aramis Ramirez got his four hits for Chicago, which had dropped in the last two of the games from the series after they won the first four of five. Sean Marshall came in and pitched perfectly in the seventh but he failed to record anything in the eighth. Manager for Chicago Mike Quade said “You play 27 outs for a reason and you’ve gotta keep the pressure on a club like that,” “We just weren’t able to cash in.”

Nick Swisher said “He’s my hero, my idol and to be able to give him this gift today, I guess, is just a great day,” Nick Swisher said. Odds

Swisher went a good 3 for 6 in his batting and a .306 with the five homers as well as 14 RBIs in the last 22 games after he was off to a rather slow start this season. He said  “Just really enjoying the game like I know how,”
