ZAMBRANO OPTIMISTIC ABOUT HIS NEW CONTRACT WITH MIAMI MARLINS
Tue, 17 Jan 2012 04:03 PM EST

Carlos Zambrano is happy about the trade from the Chicago Cubs to the Miami Marlins, expressing hope that it’ll regenerate his career, now in the State of Florida. Basketball scores

The hot-tempered pitcher was a three-time All-Star with the Cubs, but he clashed with team members, managing and referees. Miami is hoping he is going to get back on track while pitching for his Venezuelan countryman, new Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen.

“This is like a rebirth in my career, and I say so because it’s a renewed experience, a changing that creates a new opportunity,” Zambrano said Thursday in his first public pronouncements since the agreement. NFL scores

Zambrano was 125-81 with a 3.60 ERA during eleven seasons with the Chicago Cubs, a rocky tenure that stopped Aug. 12. He was shut out from a game, cleaned out his locker, discussed retiring and was suspended without pay. The right-hander will wear this season for the first time in his big league career a different uniform from the Cubs.

He was sent to the Marlins for fellow right-hander Chris Volstad. Zambrano, anticipated to earn $18 million this season in the final year of his deal, relinquished his no-trade clause to accept the offer.

“My moment with the Cubs was very prosperous excepting the last two years,” he said. “But I would say there were 11 years of achievement and want to be recalled well in Chicago. Unfortunately the last 2 years there was no common comprehension on each side and many things occurred.”

“Going to Miami will be more relaxed, waiting to do my job and together with my teammates making an attempt to win with this crew,” he said.

The 30-year-old Zambrano expressed appreciation to the Marlins for having conviction in him, and thanked his fellow and chum, Ozzie Guillen, manager of Miami, for tenured advocated to the board of the organization.

“I am extraordinarily thankful for it with managing and Ozzie himself, who did all the details feasible for that to take place,”
Zambrano asserted. “Being with Ozzie in Miami will be very beneficial, since he is a very charming person, which if you will play well, he is going to be well with you. Is someone who gives great confidence to the team, leaving the team plays “.

Throughout with Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle and Heath Bell, the right-hander is part of the addition of the biggest lineup Marlins have issue for next season, which will open new stadium and have high expectations.

“In Miami I’ll be closer to home and that will be profitable, in addition to the excitement of being in a new stadium.

Hopefully we can keep this team together and a very good chemistry to give us all things in the field,” Zambrano said.

Zambrano is in the last 5 years of the deal he signed with the Cubs in 2008, and in contrast to what he revealed 2 seasons back, no intention to get away.

“My departure is in the control of Almighty God, I could play 2 more years, but that’s in God’s hands,” he said.

Zambrano will adjust, with Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, his compatriot Ricky Nolasco and Anibal Sanchez, the group of the Marlins starters.

One of the most brilliant moments of his career was on September 14, 2008, when he pitched a no-hitter to the Houston Astros at Miller Park in Milwaukee. The game was moved out of Houston due to damage from Hurricane Ike and became the first no-hitter thrown in a neutral stadium.
