Betting Lines

Betting Lines

Everybody has some little vice in their life and in my opinion, provided it doesn't interfere with anything else and maybe more importantly it doesn't upset anybody else, then I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. My particular vice is my love of betting lines, I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I do follow most sports avidly and I find placing a small wager adds to the interest.

Today's bookmaker basically will give you betting lines on more or less anything you request – within reason, and not necessarily just on sport, but I have to say I have never ventured out of the sporting box. My main sport of choice is soccer, no specific team I might add, that would restrict your opportunities and possibly cloud your judgment, but you really wouldn't believe the amount of betting lines that are available.

One thing that all gamblers rely on is good information; research and reference are key elements and is a site that I have found to be an excellent tool to aid my quest. This scores and odds site backs up existing ideas and very often can provide that extra snippet of data which either confirms the bet, or in many cases manages to make me see sense and look elsewhere for the wager.

It is of course, perfectly acceptable to have just win, straight or single bets, but they are really for other sports with larger fields such as horse racing, where there are quite a few runners, and as a consequence, there are betting lines that are very attractive on their own. With soccer, it is basically a 2 horse race – 3 if you include the draw, but either way it is unlikely that the betting lines will be sufficient to make much of a difference to your pocket, even if successful, except if you are able to stump up a huge stake, but unfortunately I'm not in a position to bet big to win big, so I shop around for parley bets – which is 2 or more selections, a combination bet which I find often produces some of the best betting lines.

Alternatively, I look for some single bets, but use acquired knowledge to seek out some value betting lines on specifics during any one game. Here again reference to can prove invaluable. I find you can never have too much information; there is an old saying which is' you can't see the woods for the trees', inferring that you have too much information to think clearly, which is true in some ways, but I find that by prioritizing certain brackets of the data, you can call up the bits needed. I tend to use it in a kind of check list; if certain criteria is met from the first bit of info, then I move onto the next and so on and so on. Then if the betting lines are favorable I make my choice.

Some examples of the sorts of bets I look at are: the half time/ full time option. With this type of gamble you are basically deciding who is going to start and finish the stronger. give some very good pointers for this; but essentially what you are doing is deciding that a certain team may well win the contest, but they perhaps are renowned slow starters, so you bet that up to the break the opponents will be leading, before the favorites turn it around in the second period. The betting lines for these type of bets allow you to bet on the favored team, but at better odds than you would on an outright punt.

Another favorite of mine is the first goal scorer; the betting lines for this in soccer are normally very good. Even if you choose the main strikers, who inevitably will be the top priced players, and therefore the one with the least favorable betting lines; they will still be of sufficient value to warrant a bet. I tend to look for maybe a dead ball kicker, to maybe fire one in from a free kick. They might play further back in the field and consequently have superior betting lines, but have a great chance to open the scoring if the kick is awarded early in the contest. can again be a good source for some of these kinds of useful information.

Then there are the betting lines on the correct score of the match, these really do provide excellent betting lines, and the bigger the score selection the better the odds. A 1-0 scoreline will undoubtedly be the lowest of the betting lines, but in a contest where maybe top are playing bottom, a 3-0 prediction would not be unreasonable, and it would have very good betting lines.

What I really like to do, is combine the two bets. This really does provide fantastic betting lines. This sort of bet means you are gambling not only on the right final scoreline, but also who will get that first strike. It a terrific bet if it comes off, but is as you might guess, a little tricky to foresee, and this is why it is reflected in the betting lines.

There are many, many more opportunities to bet on events of any one particular soccer game, 90 minutes worth in essence and you'll find some cracking betting lines. All that is required is a some good previous knowledge, all the latest statistics, can provide these, and a cute mind and a brave heart.
