INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Chris Perry and De De Dorsey each scored a touchdown and Shayne Graham kicked a pair of field goals as the Cincinnati Bengals posted a 27-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday in the preseason finale for both teams. Perry, who gained 20 yards on nine rushes, scored from five yards out with 11:22 left in the first for a 7-0 lead. Dorsey ran for 38 yards on nine carries, including a six-yard TD run with 1:12 remaining in the contest. Chris Henry caught three passes for 20 yards for Cincinnati, which opens the season at Baltimore on September 7. Henry will not be available, however, as he is suspended for the first four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Courtney Roby returned a kickoff 103 yards for a TD for Indianapolis, which opens the season vs. Chicago. Third-string quarterback Jared Lorenzen completed 9-of-16 passes for 91 yards with an interception for the Colts, whose top two signal-callers are banged up. Two-time MVP Peyton Manning, who is recovering from knee surgery, returned to practice Tuesday and hopes to be ready for the season opener. His backup, Jim Sorgi, also is nursing a knee injury. |
