Princeton steals 62-58 win over Columbia
PRINCETON 62, COLUMBIA 58
NEW YORK (AP) -- T.J. Bray scored 12 points and had six steals to
spark Princeton to a 62-58 victory over Columbia on Saturday
The Tigers (10-8, 1-1 Ivy League) had 10 steals in the game to
just one for the Lions (11-7, 0-2), and four came during an 11-0
second-half run when Princeton turned a six-point deficit into a
Douglas Davis started the streak with a steal that led to a
Jimmy Sherburne layup with 8:22 remaining. Patrick Saunders hit
a 3-pointer after making a steal, then two steals by Bray led to
a free throw by Ian Hummer and a go-ahead layup by Ben Hazel.
Bray's 3-pointer gave the Tigers a 46-41 lead with 4:55
Columbia got within 58-57 on Brian Barbour's layup with 16
seconds left, but Bray and Davis hit two free throws each to put
the game away.
Barbour led Columbia with 25 points.
