ELON, N.C. (AP) -- Lucas Troutman scored 26 points and Jack
Isenbarger 25 as Elon edged College of Charleston 99-98 in
double overtime Thursday night after losing a big lead.



The Phoenix (11-10, 6-4 Southern Conference) shot 67.9 percent
(19 of 28) en route to a 51-34 halftime lead.



Elon still led 76-67 with 3:08 left in regulation after a layup
by Troutman, but the Cougars (13-10, 5-7) ran off nine
unanswered points, tying it on Andrew Lawrence's layup with 22
seconds left.



After baskets by Antwaine Wiggins and Trent Wiedeman brought
Charleston back from a four-point deficit to end the first
overtime at 82-82, the Phoenix made 11 of 12 free throws in the
second and built a 99-95 lead. A 3-pointer by Lawrence brought
Charleston within a point, but he missed a jumper with 1 second
left.



Lawrence scored 32 points and Wiedeman had 17 points and 17
rebounds for Charleston.
