Lillard scores 40 to pace Weber State's triumph

OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Damian Lillard showed why he's the leading
scorer in the country, scoring 40 points as Weber State
rebounded from its first conference loss of the season for a
92-79 win over Portland State on Thursday night.



Lillard made 13 of 18 shots from the field and was 6 of 8 from
beyond the arc for Weber State (17-4, 9-1 Big Sky).



Lillard had 17 points at the half and scored 15 out of his
team's 19 points in a stretch where the Wildcats built up a
16-point advantage after the break.



Scott Bamforth added 16 as Weber State won for the 11th time in
12 games and remained perfect at home, where it has won 12 in a
row going back to last season.



Charles Odum scored 26 points, Chehales Tapscott had 15 and Gary
Winston added 14 for Portland State (10-12, 4-6), which lost its
third straight.
