Meet the MLB Experts

You may recognize Derek Carty from his role on Baseball Tonight, his articles at ESPN.com, or his occasional SportsCenter appearances. He's also been published by FOX Sports, Sports Illustrated, NBC's Rotoworld, FanDuel, and Fantasy Insiders, among many others. He's a long-time DFS player and the creator of THE BAT and THE BLITZ, perhaps the most sophisticated DFS projection systems on the market. Prior to DFS, Derek honed his statistical chops as the Fantasy Manager of two of the biggest sabermetric outlets, Baseball Prospectus and The Hardball Times (now the nerdier branch of FanGraphs (yes, that's a thing!), and holds an elite track record in year-long expert leagues (six titles while finishing top-3 over 50% of the time). He's™s also the only active fantasy writer to have graduated from MLB's exclusive Scout School, which he blends with his statistical background to form a complete picture of a player.

Justin is a multi-time live finalist and Sports Betting Championship qualifier with significant GPP wins across many sports, ranked around the top 200 overall. He plays cash games and tournaments alike. Justin has experience as an FM radio personality and has almost a decade of editorial experience.

Erik Beimfohr is a long-time grinder and DFS player who has found particular success in smaller field tournaments and live final qualifiers. He has qualified for countless live finals across nearly every sport and has excelled in many different sports from NFL all the way down to college hoops. Erik is the product owner for SlateIQ on RotoGrinders, current host of the GPP Final Takes show for NFL, and produces a variety of different content across all the major sports. Chris Prince (Beermakersfan) has been playing fantasy sports for over 20 years, and has been playing daily fantasy since the early days in 2009, making him one of the true "OGs" of the DFS industry. He was one of the first winners of a major live final, taking down the 2011 FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship which led to numerous appearances on FanDuel commercials and magazine ads. Still a top DFS player, he can be found on RotoGrinders columns, podcasts, videos, and GrindersLive shows, providing expert analysis. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Chris now lives in the Detroit area, where he is a full-time family man with a beautiful wife and three young daughters. Dean Shavelson, aka dean78904, has been playing DFS since 2012 and is one of the most senior GrindersLive on-air hosts. He's dominated the MLB CVR rankings, winning top honors for both FanDuel and DraftKings in consecutive seasons. He is consistently ranked as one of the best Grinders in the industry.
