The FanDuel welcome offer is consistent, regardless of the state you’re betting in. There actually isn’t a FanDuel sportsbook promo code, but new sign ups will still receive a $500 risk free bet. It’s a pretty straight forward promotion – make a deposit, and place your bet. If it loses, FanDuel will refund the bet up to the maximum of $500, as a Promotion Bonus in the form of site credits.

Refunds will be issued within 72 hours, so don’t panic if it doesn’t show up immediately. Any winnings that come from using the refunded site credits will have a withdrawal-freeze on them. After wagering an amount equal to the Promotional Bonus, it will then be possible to cash out.
Notably, if your first wager includes multiple items on one betting slip, the first listed bet will be the one that counts towards the promotion. The current expiration date for the offer is December 31st, 2020.

You can also take money out of your account that way, in addition to requesting a paper check that will be mailed to your address on file. If you have concerns regarding banking and your FanDuel sportsbook account – don’t. It’s extremely easy, and if you ever have questions support is there to help.
To see what options are available, load up the FanDuel Sportsbook cashier and take a look. It’s important to keep in mind that you don’t actually have to be in a state with legal sports betting in order to make a deposit. You can fund your account at any time, so that you are ready to make bets as soon as you cross into a permitted state.
Place Your Bets
The best thing about betting online with FanDuel? It’s easy. It’s never difficult to find the event you want to bet on, with the most sought after live and upcoming contests listed front and center under the ‘Popular’ tab. Spreads, moneylines, and totals are always the first bets you’ll see, but far more options are available. Once you’ve made your pick, select it, and you’ll see your bet slip will appear, along with your chosen wager. Choose the desired bet amount, and place the wager.
By adding more than one bet to the slip you can easily turn them into Round Robins or Teasers with larger payouts.
FanDuel Sportsbook Active States and General Info
As sports betting spreads across the country, so has FanDuel. The popular operator currently maintains a presence in all of the major, regulated markets in the U.S. The first FanDuel Sportsbook opened in New Jersey at the Meadowlands Racetrack in July 2018. Less than two months later its first online operation went live in the Garden State, bringing a full betting sheet to anyone within the state’s borders. Bettors in the following states are able to wager on sports with FanDuel Sportsbook:

State Specifics to Note
Before you start betting on sports it’s always a good idea to take a look at the rules and regulations to make sure there aren’t any state-specific items that may impact your experience. We’ve summarized some notables for you below:
FanDuel has arrived in Iowa. The Diamond Jo properties in the state, located in both Dubuque and Northwood, are now home to official retail FanDuel Sportsbooks. However, online wagering through both a browser and the online app, has not. This makes it unique, as the only state where FanDuel currently operates in a brick-and-mortar capacity, but not online. Don’t fret, however, as online support is expected to arrive in the near future.
Another major difference for Hawkeye State bettors is the addition of in person registration. Once FanDuel Sportsbook does launch its mobile wagering app, you’ll need to visit the Diamond Jo property in Dubuque or Northwood in order to set up the account. It’s a bit of a pain, but is currently required for security purposes. Notably, in person registration expires on January 1st, 2021.
FWEET! – (that’s supposed to be a whistle noise). FanDuel and DraftKings are headed to the penalty box to serve 18 months for being ‘bad actors’. Illinois will soon be launching both retail and online sports betting, however, FanDuel won’t be there at the start. The state placed both DraftKings and FanDuel in a penalty box, excluding online-only licenses from being awarded until more than 18 months after the state awards its first ‘master license’. The restriction was meant to both penalize FanDuel, and give a head start to operations already in state.
Illinois casino owners felt like FanDuel’s DFS operations constitute gambling, and should have been treated as such. Thus, their continued operation was a violation of state law and deserving of a penalty. A three year ban was proposed, but the state decided that 18 months was fair.
West Virginia is different from the other states in that it has its own, independent sportsbook app. While other approved states in the U.S. are able to bet while using the same app, WV will require a separate download. The reason being that the West VA version also incorporates DFS.
FanDuel arrives in Colorado through a partnership with Twin River Worldwide Holdings. Online operations are underway, though there are no immediate plans for a sponsored retail sportsbook in the state. The Colorado betting sheet is wide open with a ton of available markets. Enjoy.
Browser Betting vs Mobile App
FanDuel has excelled at creating a sense of parity between browser based wagering and the mobile app experience. They use the same color scheme, and a very similar layout – get to know one, and you’ll be comfortable on the other. The differences are minor, like the bet slip appearing at the bottom of the mobile app but on the right side of the browser client. Both are clear and user friendly though.
All Apps are easy to find, at the bottom of the FanDuel homepage there’s a dedicated ‘FANDUEL APPS’ section with links for DFS and Sportsbook, both iOS and Android. You can also grab the iOS apps directly from the app store.
As mentioned above the FanDuel West Virginia sportsbook app is completely separate from the sportsbook app used in other states, and will need to be downloaded independently.
