We have already covered our favorite preseason player props for the Quarterbacks and Running Backs. Now, it’s time to switch to the pass catchers, starting with the wide receiver position. We like one player stepping into a bigger role, along with a mix of veterans and young talent.

Last year, Bateman had 515 yards in just 12 games. Now, a huge hole in the offense needs to be filled with Hollywood Brown out of town now. Bateman should step into that huge role, and he showed some spurts of big-play ability last year, when given the opportunity. He should get close to 1,000 yards this year, if he is able to play close to a full schedule, and especially if Mark Andrews can also stay healthy and draw a ton of defensive attention.

I have been as big of a Keenan Allen stan as you will find. I stood by him when people said he was “injury prone” after two freak injures. Allen has responded with at least 97 catches in five straight seasons, missing just two games in that five year span. However, Allen is now 30 years old, a dreaded age for Wide Receivers in the NFL, and more importantly for this prop, this figures to be the season that Mike Williams overtakes Allen as the top passing option in Los Angeles. Add on a tough Chargers defense that may limit the big game chances for Allen, and we are comfortable firing the under here on a player we normally love.

Ja’Marr Chase got most of the publicity during the Bengals’ Cinderella Super Bowl run last year, but Tee Higgins was the most reliable and consistent target for Joe Burrow throughout most of the season.

The Bengals improved their only weakness on offense by bulking up the offensive line in the offseason, and that should lead to more time for Joe Burrow to find his big-play guys. Chase will still demand the #1 corner each week, so we really like Higgins to hit this over, as he will need to get just over four catches a game if he plays a full season.

Liking this line has more to do with the uncertainty surrounding Chris Olave’s fellow playmakers in New Orleans than it does with confidence in the player himself.

After missing virtually two entire seasons in a row, all-pro wide receiver Michael Thomas is once again starting the year on the PUP list with his lingering ankle issues. The other key cog in this offense, Alvin Kamara, is still not clear of a possible suspension, after his role in an assault case in Las Vegas after the Pro Bowl.

The point is, the ball has to go somewhere, and Olave figures to step into a massive role either way, which is probably why this prop is juiced at -125 on DK. Bank on the young talent in Louisiana.
