Free MLB Props Picks For Thursday

Joe Musgrove Under 6.5 Strikeouts

I would expect this line to dip to 5 ½ by the time this game starts. Musgrove is a very good pitcher with borderline elite skills, but it’s not like he is the highest strikeout pitcher around. He had a 27% strikeout rate last year and sits at 26% this year. The opposing Phillies have been playing better baseball of late and have the sixth lowest team strikeout rate in baseball over the last 30 days. I expect Musgrove to pitch well, but give me the under on this healthy strikeout total.

Luis Robert To Hit A Home Run

The White Sox hitters have favorable odds on FanDuel tonight. Dean Kremer is not a quality MLB pitcher, and this could be just the recipe that the White Sox need to get back on track. Kremer has a fairly significant fly-ball lean, and the Baltimore bullpen is nothing that we need to fear. I expect the White Sox to get things rolling soon, and I’ll be taking some of their power bats to go yard tonight, with Robert being my favorite of the group.

Jameson Taillon Under 4.5 Strikeouts

This feels like a safe under bet. Houston has a meager 17.7% team strikeout rate over the last 30 days, and that is the second lowest mark in the major leagues. He has always been a pitcher that pitches to contact, as Taillon’s strikeout rate is below league average every season. Houston is going to make him work and put the ball in play, and I expect Taillon to only rack up a couple of strikeouts tonight.
