Free MLB Player Props Picks For Today

JT Brubaker over 16.5 outs recorded

Brubaker has gone over this total in four of his last five games. With a matchup against the strikeout-heavy Cubs, and a favorable wind at Wrigley Field, he should have no problem cruising to this over.

His leash is very solid – consistently around the 100-pitch mark.  His swinging-strike rate is trending in the right direction. The big issue with Brubaker is his control.  If he can keep limit the walks, he will easily hit this over total.

Whit Merrifield (+220) and Nicky Lopez (+550) over .5 Stolen Bases

The entire ScoresAndOdds team has been cashing in these stolen-base props against Noah Syndergaard all season. Today is another day to go after this matchup.

Syndergaard is the worst pitcher in baseball at holding runners.  The Royals own the ninth-most stolen bases this season. The Royals also strikeout at one of the league’s lowest rates.

Between the low strikeouts of the Royals, and Syndergaard’s under 20% K rate, there will be balls put in play. If BABIP goes against Syndergaard, the Royals will be running all over him. Merrifield’s price is not ideal, but he should be batting leadoff and will have the most chances to get on base. Lopez has horrible power, but good batted ball skills and knack of getting on base.

Freddie Freeman to hit a homerun

Freeman gets an excellent matchup against Paolo Espino. I was pretty surprised to see his odds above +300 and loved the +400 on FanDuel, so I threw down a bet.

Don’t waste time getting on this wager if you want to tail it, because I think there will be a lot of money thrown on the Dodgers bats today. Espino gives up around 45% fly balls and 40% hard contact.  He also has a K rate under 20%, a swinging-strike rate under 9% and just a 5% walk rate.

The bottom line is that he will throw strikes and they will be hit hard.  I would have no problem getting in on the home-run props with any of the Dodgers big-name bats.
