Corbin Burnes should help support the Brewers run line as a best bet for MLB Opening Day.

Greetings, SAO readers! Each Thursday, I am going to bring you three of my favorite bets for the day in a quick, easy to read article that we’ll call “Three For Thursday.”

We are going to shift this article to have more of a prop-based focus going forward. Let’s see what this Thursday slate has to offer!

Corbin Burnes Under 7.5 Strikeouts

There’s no doubt that Burnes is a great pitcher, but the Dodgers simply make pitchers WORK to get outs. We have seen them push the Milwaukee starters to 20+ pitches in several innings so far in this series. Freddy Peralta was only able to get through four innings on Monday despite not pitching all that poorly. I just don’t see Burnes having an upside strikeout game in this spot.

Corbin Burnes Under 18.5 pitching outs

The same logic applies as above. The Dodgers are going to make Burnes work to get outs in this game, and I think six innings is around what we should expect. Don’t expect him to pitch as deep as usual, which is why I like the under here.

Seiya Suzuki to hit a home run

If you’re looking for a longer shot home run pick today, I like Suzuki as a potential option. We have his true odds at +355, which makes this a fantastic value at +575 on Caesars. Spenser Watkins is a horrible pitcher with underwhelming splits against all types of hitters, and Suzuki could potentially showcase some power this evening.
