ScoresAndOdds Picks: Year 1 Highlights

One year ago this week, we launched ScoresAndOdds Picks. The first experts to post picks were 3 RotoGrinders mainstays who are still today some of our most successful and popular SAP Picks experts: Derek “Notorious” Farnsworth, Grant “Gneiffer07” Neiffer, and David “Headchopper” Kaplen.

We got off to little bit of a rocky start. Our first pick ever came from Notorious. He took the Steelers -6 over the Browns. The Browns won that game 48-37. But things got better fast. We’ve continued to add new experts to the team, everyone hit their stride and here we are, one year and 3923 picks later. So we thought it would be a great time to do a little bragging and look back at the Highlight Reel of the first year of SAO Picks.

The Meansy Streak

Andy “Meansy53” Means covers mostly MLB and NBA for us. And we somehow coerced him into getting up VERY early to find the first best pick of the day, the line that’s sure to move in the next few hours when the rest of the sports world started waking up. In September, Andy went on a crazy streak, running 14-2 on those early morning picks. He’s also had some epic runs on NBA in the morning.

NCAA Football Kickoff Sweep!

This fall, our experts had their first full college football season of picks, and they came out hot! For the opening week of NCAA Football, our team went an incredible 12-0. What a way to start the season!

It’s In The Hole!

Notorious and Justin “STLCardinals84” Van Zuiden were tearing up the course all through golf season, hitting them long and straight. But they even surprised themselves a few times. In the Northern Trust, when Tony Finau had his first win in 5 years, Notorious had him in the Top 5 (+1100) and the Top 10 (+500) and STLCardinals84 had him to win at outright +6000. And then came the Valspar Championship. Noto hit on Bradley’s Top 5 (+1400) but the real story was STL who called it right when Sam Burns won at +9000!

Grant Hits it Big!

This Fall, when DraftKings held their 2nd annual National Sports Betting Championship, our own Grant Nieffer placed third overall. He ran his initial $5K bankroll all the way up to $109,478.06, and that 3rd place finish earned him additional prize of $125K. Why does he even still work here? He must love being at ScoresAndOdds because he’s still one of our biggest contributors every day . He actually posted 9 picks while I wrote this article.

We kept improving the product too. We added member-exclusive player projections for player props, so you can see where we project that you might have an edge over the books. We added text alerts in the SAO app so you can be notified as soon as picks are posted. And we launched video features like Picks & Pints and Grind The Line, the live betting show we produce with Rotogrinders.com That’s just a few of the many highlights and big wins of our first year, and we’re just getting started.
