Welcome back to the weekly golf betting roundup article! The PGA Tour moves to Canada this week for the RBC Canadian Open.

This tournament has not been contested since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it will be interesting to see how it plays in 2022. This was the only tournament on the North American calendar that was canceled in both 2020 and 2021. St. George’s Golf and Country Club will be the host course for the first time since 2010.

When you consider the fact that we have a new course, plus back-to-back years of cancellations, we can essentially consider course history irrelevant this week. St. George’s is a highly regarded course in Canada, so it should be a lot of fun.

There are a lot of elevation changes on this course, and it is a very short par 70 layout when you consider today’s length standards (it tips at just over 7,000 yards). Accuracy, precision, and ball striking will be the keys this week.

Let’s try to find some winning bets!

Free PGA Betting Picks For The RBC Canadian Open

STL’s Top Outright Betting Picks

Scottie Scheffler to win (+850 on PointsBet) – All the guy does is contend every time he tees it up. He has eight top ten finishes and SIX first or second place finishes this season. Just bet him until he gives us a reason not to, as the statistics are rock solid across the board. He’s deserving of top honors with his consistent play over the last five months, and with a weak field lined up in Canada, he could very easily pick up another win.

Adam Hadwin to win (+4500 on DraftKings) – I will give a bit of a boost to the Canadian players this week, as they will surely be focused in on playing well in front of a home crowd. Hadwin rebounded from a brief tough stretch with a solid 18th place finish at The Memorial last week, and he posted three straight top tens just a couple months ago. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks 13th in this field in approach play and 7th around the green. Those skills should serve him well on this course, and he’s an intriguing bet at these solid odds on DK.

STL’s Top-10 Betting Picks

Corey Conners Top 10 Finish (+240 on FanDuel) – The ball striking prowess finally returned for Conners in his last start, so he should be able to return to his top 10 ways as we move forward in 2022. He’s another Canadian that gets a bit of a boost playing in his home country, and I like these odds on FanDuel for a top ten. For comparison, this same bet sits at +170 on BetMGM. Take the value here.

Chris Kirk Top 10 Finish (+350 on FanDuel) – All Kirk has done in 2022 is play consistently strong golf. His off the tee numbers are rock solid. His approach numbers are rock solid. His resume is spectacular, and he’s having the best season of his career. Once again, we’re getting favorable odds on FanDuel here.

Long Shots and Other Bets

Long Shots – It would not surprise me at all to see a dark horse contender this week. With a new course, a relatively weak field once you get past the top, and a major on tap next week, unpredictability could be the name of the game. If you want to try to peg a triple digit odds winner, my favorite potential targets are David Lipsky (130 to 1 on DraftKings) and Aaron Rai (around 100 to 1 on most books).

Shane Lowry to miss the cut (+400 on DraftKings) – I’ve had some success with these bets lately, so let’s roll this one. Lowry is undoubtedly having a strong season, but his numbers last week showed that he might finally have peaked. With a major next week that he’s sure to be focused on, I think these are very generous odds for a missed cut. Even though we have a weak field here, it is a full size (156 golfer) tournament, so more than 50% of the field will miss the cut. Don’t be surprised if Lowry doesn’t have his “A” game, especially if he gets off to a bad start.

Good luck this week everyone! Let’s win some money!
